FAQ
When does Planet Zoo 2 release?
October 13, 2026, confirmed on the official site and the Steam store page. No unlock hour has been published anywhere, so any countdown showing one is guessing.
How much does it cost?
Standard Edition $49.99, Deluxe Edition $64.99 in US SRP, with UK and euro prices confirmed on the official site. Full regional detail is on the price page.
What is the difference between the two editions?
The Deluxe Edition bundles six extra species that Frontier names in its own Zoopedia, the Golden Eagle, Golden Lion Tamarin, Axolotl, Blue and Gold Fusilier, Great Hammerhead and Longfin Batfish, plus exclusive animal signs, and the price gap is $15. The editions page lays out the decision.
Which platforms is it on?
Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those four channels are listed on the official pre-order page and nowhere else.
Is it coming to Mac, Switch, PS4, Xbox One or mobile?
None of those is announced. The honest state for every platform beyond the four channels is "not announced", not "never".
Can my PC run it?
Check your GPU against the official floor: RTX 2060 6GB, RX 5600XT or Arc A750, with 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 40 GB of storage. The requirements page prints both rows.
Will it run on a GTX 1650?
A GTX 1650 sits below all three official minimum GPUs, so it does not meet the published requirement. No performance verdict exists because nobody has played the game yet.
Is Planet Zoo 2 multiplayer?
Franchise mode lets you trade animals with other players, and the Steam tags list single-player only. Realtime co-op has never been announced. The full wording guide is on the multiplayer page.
How many animals are in the game?
Frontier's own Zoopedia listed 124 as of October 2, 2026: 118 in the base game plus six tagged Deluxe, each with a scientific name and an IUCN status. Reveals were still running, so treat that as a dated snapshot. The roster page carries every row.
Are there dolphins, whales or orcas?
No cetacean has been revealed. The largest confirmed marine mammals so far are the West Indian Manatee among aquatic species. Anything beyond that is unannounced.
Are there dinosaurs?
No. Every revealed species is a real, living animal. The dinosaur park fantasy in the same engine family belongs to a different Frontier game, compared on the vs Jurassic World Evolution 2 page.
Does it have a story campaign?
The store description promises Career mode through the FEN organisation, Franchise and Sandbox. A voiced narrative campaign is not part of any official description.
Is there a demo?
No. The Steam listing has no demo and none has been announced.
Can I pre-load the game?
Unannounced. Neither the store pages nor Frontier has said whether pre-loading exists.
Do my Planet Zoo 1 saves transfer?
Unannounced. Save transfer has never been addressed on a first-party channel. See the series page.
Do my Planet Zoo 1 blueprints carry over?
Unannounced, same as saves. The new Frontier Workshop shares creations across platforms, but whether first-game blueprints import has no answer.
Will the first game's DLC animals be in the sequel?
Unannounced. The first game sold eight and more animal packs, and no source says whether those species return. The DLC page tracks it.
Is there a season pass or DLC roadmap?
No post-launch plan has been announced at all. The series history makes more packs likely eventually, but nothing is promised.
Does it have Steam Workshop?
Not the old workshop. The confirmed system is the Frontier Workshop, shared across platforms, announced on the store description and official site.
Is it on Game Pass?
Not announced. No subscription service appears on any official channel list.
